This year’s theme is, measure your BP accurately, control it and live a long life. The objective of this campaign is to increase awareness about high blood pressure among people, to detect it in time and ensure its treatment at the community level. He said that awareness among people is most important to avoid the ill effects of this disease.

Dr. YB Pathak, Deputy CMO and Nodal Officer of the program in the medical college, said that in the way the risk of high BP is increasing among the youth, all the people above 30 years should be regularly examined. He reported that hypertension or high blood pressure affects various organs of the body, causing problems such as heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, weakening and declining ability to think and understand. It is one of the major causes of death around the world. High blood pressure is a silent killer as it gradually damages the body but it can be controlled through correct treatment and lifestyle changes.
How to identify the symptoms of hypertension
Dr. Pathak said that hypertension means high blood pressure is usually caused by poor lifestyle, obesity, ignoring stress and poor food. If it is not treated in time, it can give serious consequences like heart attack, stroke, chronic kidney disease and eyesight. Common symptoms include headaches, excessive stress, chest pain or heaviness, difficulty in breathing, sudden discomfort, difficulty in speaking or understanding, numbness or weakness in the face, hands or feet and appearance.
How to avoid high blood pressure
To prevent high blood pressure, it is necessary that the average blood pressure of the person remains between 85 and 135. If this level is more than this, then treatment becomes necessary. Such patients should regularly examine BP and pay special attention to their food. Adopt a balanced diet, exercise regularly to control weight and avoid smoking and alcohol consumption completely. Hypertension can be prevented by adopting these measures and serious diseases can also be avoided.
