Mumbai. King actor Govinda of Bollywood comedy and dance has been away from films for almost 16 years. Sunita Ahuja, wife of Govinda, Born in Virar Maharashtra in 1963, is in discussion. He recently talked about his marriage, lifestyle and Govinda’s life in a podcast. Govinda’s wife Sunita is the younger sister of his real aunt. Govinda kept his marriage hidden for many years.
She further says, ‘When I was 15 years old and studied in 9th, Govinda was in BCom second year. I found him in my brother -in -law’s house. I did not like Govinda in the beginning. I was from Bandra, she was from Birar. He was very traditional mood. Saree-salwar used to ask to wear a suit. I was like Tom Boy. I loved shorts. We both had a lot of fighting. Then gradually both of us fell in love with each other. Govinda did his struggle by staying at my brother -in -law’s house. I also used to come and go to Didi-Jija’s house. Then he slowly fell in love. Love has no age. We had an affair for three years. Then my brother -in -law caught my affair. He also told my mother. My mother got married immediately. We know each other since childhood. He neither respects me, nor do I respect him.
‘My brother -in -law challenged’
Sunita tells about her love story, ‘Her first film was’ Tan-Bandan’. I too got an offer to work in the film but I refused. I clearly said that I do not like to do films. He returned from the film’s Muhurta. As soon as he returned home, I had touched his beard. I thought I will see what reaction Govinda gives. My brother -in -law challenged. When Govinda was in Virar, he would not let any girl put his hand. I also had this thing about this. I thought that if he would turn my hand and hold my hand, I will also hold his hand. Later I made him my life partner.
‘I was also married because of my mother -in -law’
She further says, ‘I knew that Govinda is very fond of her mother. I was also married due to mother -in -law. Otherwise I am not at home today. Govinda would have married someone else. As soon as Govinda got married, he said that the same would be the same in this house that my mother will want. My mother -in -law loved me very much. My and my mother -in -law’s birthday was together on June 15. I stayed with my mother -in -law for about 13 years but never fought with her.
‘I am not Sati Savitri but…’
On the question of not doing parties, Sunita says, ‘I do not do parties anymore. I am not even Sati Savitri. Everything has an age. Now children have grown up. Now I focus on worship. I do yoga-trimming. He is fond of seeing new temples. For 12 years, I have been considering my birthday alone. Time should also be taken for yourself. I speak this to all women. I also put two pegs in the evening.
‘Govinda is irritated with me’
Why is Govinda not seen in films nowadays? In response to this question, Sunita says, ‘The circle of Govinda is very wrong. Those people keep acclaiming Govinda’s false praise. When I tell the truth, it gets irritated. I say that Chichi is the end of 1990. Now 2025 is going on. I get angry He should change his circle.
On the question of not playing the character, Sunita said, ‘I also explain the same thing to him all the time. The same thing was said by David Dhawan. Solo is not the time of hero.
