A cabinet meeting will be held at 11 am today at the Prime Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of PM Narendra Modi. Issues related to policy and safety may be discussed in this meeting.
The last cabinet meeting took place on 14 May. The sixth semiconductor unit of the country was approved in that meeting. This unit will be installed in jewelry in Uttar Pradesh for Rs 3706 crore.
HCL and Foxconn will jointly create this unit. The plant will have mobile phones, laptops, automabels, personal computers, and display driver chips for other display devices. 3.6 crore chips will be made every month.
The India Semiconductor Mission was launched in 2022. Under this, 6 projects have been approved so far. Construction work is going on fast. Students of 270 educational institutions and 70 startups are learning semiconductor technology through the latest tools.

April 9: Rail project of ₹ 1332 crore sanctioned in Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had told that the 104 km single railway line from Tirupati to Katipadi in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will be converted into double line. It will cost around Rs 1332 crore. With this, with the increase in connectivity to Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh, other major sites like Shri Kalahasti Shiva Temple, Kanipakam Vinayak Temple, Chandragiri Fort etc. will also be able to get railway connectivity.
