The ‘Mahakubhabhbhishekam’ of Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala will be held on 8 June. This program is taking place after the renovation of the temple. Under its preparations, the rituals of ‘Kalash Puja’ have started from today.

This temple was last renewed in 1750 by Maharaja Martand Verma of Travancore in 1750. At the same time, he also performed the famous ‘Trippadi Danam’ (dedication to the temple). Now after about 270 years, this type of stupa is being surrendered again.

This renewal of the temple was done on the basis of the recommendations of the Specialist Committee appointed by the Supreme Court in March 2017, in which some idols were found to be damaged. The silver flag was established in the Thiruvambadi Srikrishnaswamy Temple four years ago under the first phase of renovation. The Kumbhbhishekam ceremony will be held on 8 June between 7:40 am and 8:40 pm.
