Two Japanese Boxers Died of Brain Injuries on Same Fight Card: Two Japanese boxers, Shigetoshi Kotari and Hiromasa Urakava died of brain injury. WBO has mourned his death.

The first incident occurred on August 2 when 28 -year -old Shigetoshi Kotari fainted soon after completing a 12 round draw against Junior Lightweight Champion Yamato Hata of the Kotari and Pacific Boxing Federation.
Emergency surgery was performed for his subdural hematoma (a condition in which blood accumulates between the brain and the skull), but he died on Friday. World Boxing Organization (WBO), the highest body of professional boxing, wrote on social media:
The boxing world mourns the tragic death of Japan boxer Shigtoshi Kotari. He was a warrior in the ring. We have condolences to his family and Japan’s boxing community.
On Saturday, 28 -year -old Hiromasa Urakawa, another Japanese boxer, died of a head injury during a knockout necklace from Yoji Saito. Craniotomy was done to save his life.
The WBO said in another social media post on Saturday, ‘This heart -wave news has come a day after the death of Shigetoshi Kotari. Urakawa died due to injuries during the same competition. We express our deep condolences to their families, friends and Japanese boxing community in this difficult time.
