BJP MLA Kanwarlal Meena from Anta (Baran) in Rajasthan surrendered in the trial court today. He was sentenced to 3 years on May 7 in a 20 -year -old case.

Let me tell you, on 7 May, the Supreme Court rejected Kanwarlal’s special permission petition (SLP). He was ordered to surrender before the trial court in two weeks.
The trial court issued an arrest warrant on 9 May after not getting relief by the Supreme Court.
The MLA also visited Balaji in Aklera (Jhalawar) before surrendering in Manorathana ACJM Court.
First of all know- the case that becomes a sore throat of the MLA
- On 3 February 2005, at the Dangipura-Rajgarh turn, two km from the Manohar police station in Jhalawar, the people of the village had stopped the way to vote again in connection with the election of Khatkhedi’s Deputy Assembly.
- On the information, the then SDM Ramnivas Mehta, Probationer IAS Dr. Pritam B Yashwant and Tehsildar Ramkumar reached the spot. They were explaining to the people.
- About half an hour later Kanwarlal reached the spot with some of his companions. He said a pistol on the temple of SDM Mehta and said that if he did not announce the counting of votes again in two minutes, I will kill him.
- Mehta told him- can be killed in this way, but the counting of votes cannot be announced again. The people of the village explained to Kanwarlal
- He then broke the cassette from the camera of the department’s photographer and then burnt. Kanwarlal also snatched the digital camera of Dr. Pritam. Returned the camera after about 20 minutes.

Once acquitted, then the verdict overturned
The Acjm Court Manohar police station was convicted on 2 April 2018 in the case. Appellate Court Aklera, while overturning the trial court’s decision, convicts him.
14 December 2020 was sentenced to 3 years. According to the order, surrender was to be surrendered on 21 May. On not doing so, the police would arrest and produce in the court.
Anta (Baran) MLA Kanwarlal appealed to the High Court against the decision of the adjj. The High Court also rejected Kanwarlal’s petition and upheld the sentence.
The Supreme Court rejected all arguments
On 7 May, Justice Vikramnath, Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice Sanjay Karol had a hearing in the Supreme Court. MLA’s lawyer Namit Saxena had said that there has been no seizure of the revolver.
In such a situation, there is no case of criminal force. The video cassette which has been said to break and burn, has not been recovered by the police.
In such a situation, a case of damage to government property cannot be made here. The Supreme Court rejected his arguments and ruled to surrender in the trial court in two weeks.
The High Court had said- cannot ignore criminal background
Earlier, the High Court also dismissed the appeal, saying that Kanwarlal described himself as a political person and disregarded it instead of protecting the law.
There were already 15 criminal cases against him. Even though it is mostly freed, but the criminal background cannot be sidelined.
The Governor has met Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vasudev Devnani. The meeting is being linked to the episode of Kanwarlal Meena.
Discussion on mercy petition intensified after meeting the Governor and the meeting of CM
Here, no one is ready to speak from BJP to government on the ongoing dispute over Kanwarlal Meena’s legislative. Meanwhile, the governor has met Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vasudev Devnani and CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.
The meeting of the CM and the speaker with the Governor is being linked to the episode of Kanwarlal Meena. However, no one is officially speaking about this.
