These apps are hidden as a cryptocurrency wallet and sensitive users are targeting data such as wallet recovery frames. According to the recent report of Cyble Research and Intelligence Labs (CRIL), more than 20 dangerous apps have been found on Google Play Store which can endanger your personal and financial information.
These Crypto Wallet Apps are a trap
These fake cryptocurrency wallet apps are designed to steal the wallet recovery frame, which is an important key to users to reach Defi Wallets. Apps like Sushiswap, Pancakeswap, RayDium, Hyperlique, and Suiet Wallet are part of this scam. As soon as the user downloads the app, he is asked to enter a 12-term recovery frame, which the cyber criminals steal and get access to the user’s wallet.
Cyber criminals are uploading these harmful apps using developer accounts related to gaming and video editing tools. These apps hide fishing URLs in their privacy policy, which is cheated to users for adding sensitive information. This scam seems even more reliable because these apps mimic the design and functionality of real crypto wallet apps.
