On April 3, the Supreme Court canceled 25,752 appointments related to the teacher recruitment scam.
The Supreme Court has stayed the CBI investigation in the West Bengal school recruitment scam case. In the case, the Calcutta High Court ordered the CBI inquiry into the West Bengal cabinet decision to increase additional posts for school employees.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna on Tuesday, said, “It was not appropriate to hand over the investigation of the cabinet to the CBI.” The bench, citing constitutional schemes, said that the decisions of the cabinet are not under judicial inquiry.
However, the bench has said to continue the investigation of appointment of 25,753 teachers and employees. On April 3, the Supreme Court dismissed the employees, calling more than 25,000 teachers and non-teachers appointments illegal.
At the same time, on Monday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the teachers and staff whose recruitment has been canceled by the Supreme Court. Mamta Banerjee said that we are bound by the court order. This decision is an injustice for those candidates who were capable teachers.
He said, ‘You guys do not think that we have accepted the decision. We are not stoned. You can also put a gel to say so, but I don’t mind. ‘
Following the Supreme Court’s decision, West Bengal BJP has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and sent to jail.

BJP bid- Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee fails to fulfill responsibility
State BJP President and Union Minister of State for Education Sukant Majumdar had posted on X and said – ‘The state has failed the entire responsibility of corruption on a large scale in teacher recruitment. The Supreme Court’s decision has made it clear how the qualifications of educated unemployed youth in West Bengal were sold in lieu of money under the rule of Mamata Banerjee!
BJP bid- Had the previous order accepted, the job of 19 thousand teachers will not go
Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has convicted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the entire case. In a press conference outside the assembly, he said- Despite getting several opportunities, the government did not give the list of sought of the Supreme Court.
The state government still has a chance. Can submit the list by 15 April. If this does not happen, we will march on 21 April with one lakh people to Nabanna. This will be a non-political, people’s movement.
He said- He is not just the CM of Bengal, not only the TMC leader. The real CM would meet all the sacked teachers, not a handful of teachers. He claimed that Mamta met only 7 thousand teachers. There were many TMC workers among them.
At the same time, BJP MP and former Justice of the Calcutta High Court Abhijeet Gangopadhyay said- If the government had accepted the previous order, then the job of 19 thousand teachers would not have gone.

Suvendu officer on Monday along with BJP MLAs staged a protest against the Mamta government.
Suvendu said- Mamta is the main accused, she will have to go to jail
The BJP is constantly demanding the resignation of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in this case and sent to jail. Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Legislative Assembly Suvendu Adhikari on Monday along with BJP MLAs protested against the Mamta government.
During this time the officer said- Mamta Banerjee will have to go to jail. He is the main accused. His nephew Abhishek Banerjee has taken a bribe of Rs 700 crore in lieu of jobs. Here, activists of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also demonstrated in Kolkata to protest against CM Mamata Banerjee.
At the same time, Union Minister and West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar claimed that Mamata Banerjee will be the second Chief Minister to go to jail in the teacher recruitment scam case. The late Om Prakash Chautala, who was the four -time Chief Minister of Haryana, went to jail in 2013 in one such case.
Mamta said- not accepted personally decision
On the Supreme Court’s decision, Mamta had said- she personally does not accept the Supreme Court’s decision, but her government will implement it and repeat the selection process again. He also questioned whether the opposition BJP and CPM want the education system of Bengal to be destroyed.
He had said, ‘As a citizen of this country, I have every right and I cannot accept this decision with respect for judges. I am expressing my opinion from a human point of view. Do not give wrong information or do not create confusion. The government accepts the decision. The School Services Commission has asked to resume the recruitment process.

Understand the whole matter in two points …
- In 2016, the West Bengal government recruited teaching and non-teaching staff for government and aided schools through the State Level Selection Test-2016 (SLCT). Then more than 23 lakh people took the recruitment examination for 24,640 vacant posts.
- In this recruitment, it is accused of taking bribe from 5 to 15 lakh rupees. The Calcutta High Court had received several complaints in the case. In the case of irregularities in recruitment, CBI arrested former state education minister Partha Chatterjee, his close Arpita Mukherjee and some SSC officials. Arpita was a model by profession.
