The study states that poor night habits are responsible for sleep and due to this, cancer cases have started increasing.
According to the news of TOI, the body runs on a 24 -hour internal clock which is called Circedian Rhythm. This controls sleep, secretions of hormones and other important biological processes. This internal clock is very sensitive to light. Especially from the blue light that comes out of screen like smartphones, tablets and television. This rhythm deteriorates when there is no right sleep habits. That is, if you have a dirty habit of watching some videos on mobile at night at night, then it spoils your circadian rhythm and it increases the risk of cancer. A 2005 study states that artificial lights increase the risk of breast cancer at night. Researchers said that the risk of developing breast cancer in industrialized countries is about five times more than in underdeveloped countries. These results suggest that the increasing use of electrical lights at home and work at night can cause this danger. When it is dark, the brain makes a hormone called melatonin which creates an atmosphere for sleep. Melatonin plays a protective role in the body. It helps in suppressing the growth of the tumor. But when artificial light is encountered at night, the production of melatonin is late or less, then sleep is hindered and the body can create a biological environment that promotes cancer.
Thyroid cancer also due to sleep disturbance
A 2021 study also reported that contact with artificial lights at night may increase the risk of thyroid cancer. Sleep is necessary to maintain better physical, emotional and mental health. It gives the body an opportunity to relax, recover and fill energy for the next day. Despite its importance, sleep is often ignored. In today’s time, many habits such as excessive use of screen disrupt sleep. For example, as soon as you go to bed at night, mobile light starts continuously and people get busy watching reel or videos. Some people have such a dangerous habit that they keep watching something on mobile till 4-4 in the morning. Then we start the mobile as soon as you get up. These dirty habits are increasing the risk of cancer. According to the study, frequent disturbances in circadian rhythm may increase the risk of breast, prostate and colon cancer.
People working in night shifts are more threatened because they always have to stay in artificial light. When the body needs darkness, then milky lights are filled in front of them. Therefore, there is always a danger. The blue light emanating from the screen sends the wrong signal to the brain, which is suppressed melatonin and delays sleep. The study states that some tips can work better to bring good sleep. For this, stop using the screen at least two hours before sleeping. After sunset, slow down the light of the house. Sleep every night at the right time. Make a right time to get sleep. For example, if you sleep at 10 o’clock in the night, then try to complete this cycle daily. Use blue color glasses to see the device at night. Do not listen to anything in a loud voice while sleeping. Create a quiet environment.
