Badminton Asian Junior Championship: Tanvi Sharma joins Indian team

New Delhi: Talent Tanvi Sharma has been included in India’s 19 -member team for the Badminton Asian Junior Championship (team and individual) to be held in Solo, Indonesia from 18 to 27 July.

Tanvi won the gold medal in the Badminton Asia Women’s Team Championship. India will also have expectations from junior world number one men’s doubles team Bhargava Ram Arigella and World Tej Goburu.

The team events will be held from 18 to 22 July while individual matches will be played from 23 to 27 July.

The team competition will be in the relay format, in which the team reaching 110 points will be victorious. It will start with the group phase, after which the knockout will be held.

The team will gather at the Center for Excellence in Guwahati from July 4 to 15. The BWF Junior World Championship is also to be held in NCE Guwahati later this year.

Sanjay Mishra, general secretary of the Indian boxing union, said, ‘World class talents are coming out of India’s junior circuit. From this camp, these talents will be prepared to win medals.

Male single: Ansh Negi, Hamar Lalthajuala, Raunak Chauhan, Pranav Ram N

Women’s single: Rujula Ramu, Tanvi Sharma, Tanvi Reddy, Vannala Kalagotla

Male couple: Bhavya Chhabra and Param Chaudhary, Bhargava Ram Arigella and World Tej Goburu

Women’s Couple: Vannala Kalagotla and Reshika U, Gayatri Rawat and Mansa Rawat

Mixed couple: Vishnu Kedar Kode and Kirti Manchla, C. Lalramsanga and Tarini Suri.
