New Delhi: Servin Sebastian on Tuesday opened India’s account at the 26th Asian Athletics Championship by winning a bronze medal in the men’s 20 km walk event in Gumi, South Korea.
The 25 -year -old India’s 25 -year -old took an hour, 21 minutes and 13.60 seconds (1: 13.60) and secured the podium place in the first event of the tournament after the Wang Jhaozhao (1: 20: 36.90) of China (1: 20: 36.90) and Japan’s Kento Yoshika (1: 20: 44.90).
Sebastian’s time was slightly behind his personal best time 1:21:23, which he made in February this year while winning a gold medal in the Uttarakhand National Games.
