Archery World Championship: Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini and Prathamesh Fajy made it to the quarter -finals in the World Archery Championship and made history by winning the team gold medal in the World Archery Championship.

Guangju: Three archers of India Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini and Prathamesh Fajy continued their performance and entered the men’s compound individual quarter -finals of the World Archery Championship on Monday.

A day before this, these three players created history by winning the first team gold medal for the country.

In the men’s compound category, the 19th seed and lowest ranked Indian qualifier Fajy defeated world number one player and 2013 world champion Mike Shloer of Netherlands to make the biggest upset of his career.

22-year-old archer of India performed brilliantly, he made an accurate target at 150 out of 150 arrows and scored 10–10 points on all 15 arrows.

Both archer scored 10 points perfect in the first three sets, but Shloresar lost one point in the fourth set. Fuege won the match by continuing his order of 10-10, showing amazing restraint. In the quarter -finals, he will compete with Denmark’s Mathias Fulrton.

Yadav won the silver medal in a mixed team with Jyoti Surekha Vennam on Sunday, besides winning the team event gold medal, he also easily defeated Estonia’s Robin Jatma 148-140.

Now he will face the world’s third player and top seed French player Nicholas Girrd.

Saini faced a tough challenge in the pre-quarter-final match, but in the shoot-off she maintained her patience and defeated France’s gene Philip Baulch 144–143, her next rival would be the US Curtis Broadnex.
