New Delhi. Sri Lankan team will start the new Test Championship Circle against Bangladesh at their home later this month. The hosts have announced their 18 -member team for the two -match Test series against Bangladesh. The first match of this series is to be played in Galle from 17 June. Dhananjay D. Silva will be seen captaining the team. Former captain Angelo Mathews will last for Sri Lanka to play in Test cricket.
Angelo Mathews’ last test
In the first Test match, everyone’s former captain will be on Angelo Mathews. This will be the last match of his Test career. Mathews started his Test career in Galle in 2009 and he would retire at the same place in Sri Lanka’s white jersey. The 37 -year -old Mathews, Dimuth, is running at the footsteps of Karunaratne, who retired in Galle after the second Test against Australia in February 2025.
Sri Lankan program against Bangladesh
Bangladesh announced its team earlier this month in which Najmul Hussain Shanto will continue the captaincy of the team in the new WTC Chakra. The Bangladesh team will play the first Test against Sri Lanka between June 17 and June 21 in Galle. After this, both teams will be face to face in Colombo for the second Test. The match is to be played from 25 June to 29 June.
