The Jammu and Kashmir Police has installed face reconstruction system (FRS) on the Pahalgam route of the Amarnath Yatra. This system will alert security forces as soon as the black listed people and active terrorists in the valley come in camera, so that any terrorist attack on the pilgrims can be stopped.
For this, pictures of terrorists and suspected overground workers have been uploaded in this system. These systems are also being installed on the Balattal route. FRS identifies the person by mixing facial analysis from digital photographs or videos, mixing with database.
The decision came after the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April. 26 tourists were killed in a terrorist attack in Bisaran Valley. The journey from 3 July to 9 August is taking 38 days for the first time.
On August 9, the day of Rakshabandhan will be completed with stick Mubarak. This year, the period of the yatra has been reduced to 38 days as compared to 52 days of the previous year.

The first picture of the 7 feet high snow Shivling was revealed on 5 May.
Special arrangements are being made for 2025 Amarnath Yatra this time
- Jammer is being installed for the first time for the protection of the convoy, which the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) will provide security. 581 companies of armed forces will be deployed. About 42000 to 58,000 personnel will be deployed.
- For the safety of passengers on the journey route, 156 companies were already posted in Jammu and Kashmir, while 425 new companies will be deployed by June 10.
- There will be a verification of the pony people carrying the devotees on their shoulders. Pony/Pitthu service with criminal records will not be allowed to run.
- Those horse-mules have also been tagged, on which the devotees will sit on a journey. So that they can be tracked real time when they are removed from the route.
- Road opening party will be monitored by a quick action team for immediate action on threats, Bomb Defwel Squad, K9 units (particularly trained dogs) and drones.

Terrorist attack on Amarnath Yatra has taken place earlier
Amarnath pilgrims have already had many terrorist attacks. In August 2000, 32 people, including two dozen Amarnath pilgrims, were killed in a terrorist attack on Nunwan Base Camp. Thirteen people were killed in an attack in July 2001, when terrorists attacked the Sheshnag base camp of the yatra. In 2002, 11 Amarnath travelers were killed at the Chandanwari base camp. In July 2017, eight people were killed in an attack on a bus full of Amarnath pilgrims in Kulgam district.
How to reach: Two routes for travel
1. Pahalgam Route: It takes 3 days to reach the cave with this route, but this path is easy. There is no standing climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. Climbing starts from here.
The journey reaches the flea top after three km climb. Walking from here, the journey reaches Sheshnag by evening. This journey is about 9 km. The next day, passengers from Sheshnag go to Pancharani. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. The cave from Panchatarni remains just 6 km.
2. Baltal Route: If the time is short, then Baba can go through the Baltal route for Amarnath Darshan. It has to climb only 14 km, but there is a very steep climb, so the elderly have problems on this path. There are narrow paths and dangerous turns on this route.
What to keep in mind
During the journey, keep medical certificate, 4 passport size photos, Aadhaar card, RFID card, travel application form with you. Practice 4 to 5 km of walking every day in terms of physical fitness. Do pranayama and exercise like breath yoga. Keep woolen clothes, raincoats, tracking sticks, water bottles and bags of essential medicines with you in the journey.
Himani Shivling is made in Amarnath
Amarnath Shivalinga is a wonderful natural Himan manufactured structure, called Himani Shivling. The Amarnath cave is located at an altitude of about 3,888 meters above sea level. This cave is north facing, which reaches the direct light of the sun very rarely. This keeps the temperature inside the cave below 0 ° C, which makes the ice easily freezing.
Water drips from the roof of the cave, which comes from the melting of the surrounding glaciers or ice. If the water slowly falls down, it moves upwards in the shape of a column or penis. It is scientifically called stalagmite.
