More than 4 lakh devotees from across the country have registered for this pilgrimage starting from July 3.
After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Amarnath Yatra is going to be held in its history in high security this year. Senior police officer said- In 2024, a total of 40 thousand personnel were deployed. At the same time, 35 thousand soldiers will be deployed on both travel routes with 60km.
Apart from this, 1 lakh personnel from Jammu to the holy cave will be handled. Both root will be equipped with 4 thousand CCTV cameras with high resolution and face recognition technology. These will be connected to 6 control rooms. Bunkers are also being made.
There are two travel routes from Jammu to the holy cave. First- 14 km long Baltal route, which is 14 km long from base camp to cave. Second- Pahalgam root which is 46 km long from basecamp to cave. More than 4 lakh devotees from across the country have registered for this pilgrimage starting from July 3.

Heavy security on 46 km Pahalgam route Mr. Amarnath Shrine Board officials are working with several departments to clean the tracks and facilities on both routes of Pahalgam and Baltal. Camps are being set up on Baltal Marg from Baltal, Neelgrath Domel, Brari Marg, Sangam, Lower Cave and Holy Cave.

Booking of helicopter will start from June Apart from security, preparations are also underway to facilitate the smooth operation of the pilgrimage. Helicopter services are also being arranged for the convenience of pilgrims. Helicopter flights will be operated from Srinagar to Pahalgam and Pahalgam to Panchtarni on Chandanwadi route. On Baltal Marg, the helicopters will fly from Srinagar to Neelgrath Baltal and then Panchatarni. Booking for these services is expected to begin in June.

In 2023, 4.5 lakh passengers attended. In 2012, a record 6.35 pilgrims visited. In 2022, the figure was reduced due to Kovid and 3 lakh pilgrims arrived to visit.
How to reach: Two routes for travel
1. Pahalgam Route: It takes 3 days to reach the cave with this route, but this path is easy. There is no standing climb in the journey. The first stop from Pahalgam is Chandanwadi. It is 16 km from the base camp. Climbing starts from here.
The journey reaches the flea top after three km climb. Walking from here, the journey reaches Sheshnag by evening. This journey is about 9 km. The next day, passengers from Sheshnag go to Pancharani. It is about 14 km from Sheshnag. The cave from Panchatarni remains just 6 km.
2. Baltal Route: If the time is short, then Baba can go through the Baltal route for Amarnath Darshan. It has to climb only 14 km, but there is a very steep climb, so the elderly have problems on this path. There are narrow paths and dangerous turns on this route.

Amarnath Yatra- Registration- Offline forms will be available in more than 600 banks

Registration for Amarnath Yatra-2025 is being held from April 15. Devotees can register both online and offline. The registration fee has been kept at Rs 220. Offline registration can be done in more than 600 banks. On March 5, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced the dates of the journey at the 48th meeting of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB).
