Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships: Ajay Babu Valluri and Bedbrata Bharali won the gold in their classes by performing historically in the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.

He made continuous progress from 176 kg to 180 kg in clean and jerk. Then broke the record from 183 kg and took a total weight of 335 kg. Ajay also won the gold medal in the 81 kg weight category in the last year’s phase. India also won a medal in the women’s category. 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Harjinder Kaur won a bronze medal in the 69 kg weight category. He loaded a total of 222 kg by lifting 95 kg in snatch and 123 kg in clean and jerk.
In the 79 kg weight category of the junior men’s category, Bedbrata won the gold medal by lifting 326 kg weight in snatch, clean and jerk and total weight category. He continuously improved the snatch, weighing 138 kg to 142 kg and eventually 145 kg, which broke the previous record of 139 kg. In clean and jerk, he lifted 173 kg, 177 kg and then 181 kg and broke the previous record of 169 kg. Bedbrata also improved a record of 307 kg of the championship from 326 kg.
India also received a silver medal from Grishma Thorat in the 77 kg event of young women. He lifted a total of 178 kg in snatch by lifting 79 kg and 99 kg in clean and jerk. In this event, Samoa’s scene stovers dominated who broke their own meat record with 102 kg snatch and lifted a total of 229 kg.
