New Delhi. The services of Airtel, the country’s largest telecom company, suddenly came to a standstill on Monday afternoon. Thousands of users complained on social media platforms that they are having trouble calling and internet data is not working. According to outage tracking websites, the reports of Airtel’s problem suddenly got a sudden bounce in the afternoon, affecting many users across the country.

The problem started increasing from around 4 pm and on seeing this, the number of complaints reached thousands. On social media platforms, users were constantly seen complaining about network down. According to data from Downdetetor, complaints suddenly surfaced around 4 pm and more than 2,500 reports were filed on peak time. Usually, Airtel’s complaints are very low, but this time reports came from all over the country. Especially from big cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, most users expressed problems.

Both call and data affected

The outage report revealed that 56% of the users faced mobile calling problems, 26% got mobile internet closed and 18% users did not get the entire network signal. The outage map also showed clearly that a large number of people were affected in urban areas.

Anger among users, impact on functioning

Many customers complained that their data is not working despite recharging. Bangalore users said that Airtel’s 4G remained closed for a long time, affecting their online work. Some customers even said that if the network quality remains like this, then they can make up their mind to change the company.

The company apologizes

Amid growing anger, Airtel issued a statement on social media and accepted the problem. The company said, “We are facing network outage at the moment. Our team is working continuously so that the service can be restored as soon as possible. We regret for the inconvenience.”
