On Saturday, 3 officers were removed by Air India on the orders of DGCA.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given a serious warning to Air India, saying that if there is disturbances in the flight operation, the airline’s license can be suspended or withdrawn. According to media reports, the move has been taken due to frequent and serious violations in pilot duty scheduling and surveillance.
Earlier on Saturday, 3 officers were removed by Air India on the orders of DGCA. These include Divisional Vice President Chuda Singh, Crew Scheduling Chief Manager Pinky Mittal and Crew Scheduling Planning Planning.
This action was taken against the three officers for serious violations of the aviation safety protocol. DGCA ordered Air India to remove them from the rolls associated with crew scheduling and roperation with immediate effect.
The decision was taken after the plane crash accident in Ahmedabad on 12 June. The Air India flight to London crashed immediately after the AI-171 flying. The plane was hit by a medical college hostel, killing a total of 275 people, including passengers.
The Air India aircraft collided with the hostel building of Bij Medical College.
3 allegations against all three officers
- Going against the rules and pairing.
- Compulsory flight experience and violation of licensing rules.
- Not following the scheduling protocol.
DGCA also gave these instructions
- The Air India officials should be removed from all the responsibilities related to crew scheduling and rostering. Start inter -disciplinary action against these officers immediately. Report to DGCA in 10 days.
- These officers should be transferred to non-operating posts until the corrective process is completed and they should not be allowed to work on any flight safety or crew compliance.
- Strict action will be taken if there is a violation of any rules related to crew scheduling, licensing or flight time in future. Which may include fine, license suspension or cancellation of operator permission.
DGCA also sought AIR India audit details
DGCA has sought details of all inspections and audit done by Air India from 2024. According to the news agency PTI, DGCA has asked flight operation inspectors to provide the details of Air India by 22 June. This data plan-anpland is about inspection, audit, cockpit/enorm, station facility, ramp and cabin inspection.
Here, interim compensation is being given to the families and dependents of those killed in the plane accident. In this process, which started from June 20, three families have received payment so far. The remaining claims are being processed.
The entire Aviation STum will have a ‘360 degree’ check
DGCA has decided to scan 360 degrees of the entire aviation system of the country. Now there will be a special ‘Comprehensive Special Audit’. Under this, the entire system like flight operations, maintenance, licensing, security management, training institutes, MRO (maintenance, repair, overhall), ATC (Air Traffic Controller) will be checked.
The signed order of Civil Aviation Director General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai states that this decision has been taken to identify the weaknesses of the system and strengthen the air security structure on global standards.
Air India flights are constantly canceling for 10 days
Air India Fleet has 33 Boeing 787- 8/9 aircraft. However, its flights have been canceled continuously for the last 10 days. Between 12 and 17 June, Air India canceled 69 flights, including flights of Boeing 787.
On June 18, 3 flights were canceled on 3 and 19 June. On June 20, 8 flights were canceled. In total, 84 flights were canceled in 9 days till 20 June.
On June 19, AI388 (Airbus A320 Neo aircraft) of Air India going to Vietnam was called to Delhi by middle route. The technical flaw was detected in the plane.

DNA sample of other relatives asked for 8 people
