New Delhi. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has reminded citizens that today, June 14, the last day is when they can update their Aadhaar online for free. If they have not done this in the last ten years, then they will have to update their base immediately. After this date, whether the update is made online or at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, a fee of Rs 50 will be charged for it.

Uploading proof of current address and identity through the Myaadhaar portal is part of the update. UIDAI has specifically asked to update those who nominated before 2015 and have not updated their information since then. Such people can avail this free update window. Free update service will end at midnight today.

Why is it necessary to update?

Aadhaar is widespread use for passport application, mobile SIM verification, bank account opening and government subsidy. Keeping your data updated ensures easy service access and authentication.

How to update for free online
– Go to myadhaar.uidai.gov.in
– Login by entering your Aadhaar number and OTP sent on registered mobile
– Check the accuracy of your information
– Latest Identification Proof (JPG, PNG, or PDF, Maximum 2 MB)
– Upload proof of latest address (along the same size and format range)
– Download the acceptance receipt after submitting your request

Update your biometrics every 10 years

To avoid failure in verification, UIDAI recommends that you do your biometrics -photo, iris scan and fingerprint -update every 10 years. This update is necessary to ensure uninterrupted access to banking, welfare schemes and telecom services. Let us tell you that you have to give a fee to update biometrics.

Note that you must have the right documents to update Aadhaar. If there is a mistake, your request can be rejected. So fill all the information carefully and upload the correct documents.
