A new controversy has erupted over the Shivling of the first Jyotirlinga Somnath temple. Shankaracharyas, saints, Mahants and Shiva worshipers have opposed the announcement of the re -establishment of the Shivling in Somnath temple.
Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of astrology bench says that why Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has not yet talked about it? Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka Shardapith said- Jyotirlinga is self-proclaimed and does not need to re-distinguish it. At the same time, Harigiri Maharaj said- Jwala can never be fragmented, so there is no question of restoring it. Shiva worshiper Nijanand Swamy said that it is not possible to have a piece of 1000 year old Somnath Shivling. Somnath Trust trustee PK Lahiri said that there is no evidence of whether these pieces belong to the original Shivling or not.
Now know the whole reason for this dispute A few days ago, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the founder of Art of Living, caught everyone’s attention by claiming that he had 4 parts of Somnath Jyotirlinga. This Shivling was broken by Mahmud Ghaznavi 1,000 years ago. He told that these pieces of Shivling have already been received before the recently concluded Mahakumbh. He also announced that two out of four parts would be restored in the Somnath temple.
To know his opinion on this announcement of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Divya Bhaskar interacted with Shankaracharyas and saints and mahants, in which he opposed the campaign of Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Why Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has not talked about it yet? Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati of astrology bench told Divya Bhaskar- Narendra Modi is the president of Somnath Temple Trust. Amit Shah and LK Advani are also associated with the trust. Ravi Shankar keeps meeting them all. Then why Ravi Shankar has not talked to him about this yet? Millions of eternal devotees come to see Somnath and this is a matter of faith.
He further said- If you have pieces of Shivling, then what is installed in the Somnath temple cannot be called a full Shivling. There is worship every day. So you mean that incomplete Shivling is worshiped. How can this be possible? If you say that this is a part of the earlier Shivling. Now that the new Shivling is installed, the part of the earlier Shivling has no meaning.
This will create division in faith Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati further said- Now the Shivling which is established there as Jyotirlinga is the same Jyotirlinga. Only that will be worshiped. Worshiping someone else is a harm to harm faith. This is the division of faith. If a new temple is installed at another place, some people will consider it as Somnath and start worshiping there too. So you (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) are trying to disrupt our central faith, so it has no meaning. There is no mention of this in the scriptures. Jyotirlinga manifests itself. But we do not see, so for our convenience, we install Shivling as a symbol and worship it. A Shivling is installed in Somnath. It is being worshiped. Therefore, the worship of Somnath Jyotirlinga is clear. Now there is no need to add something new to it.
Jyotirlinga does not require reputation again At the same time, Shankaracharya Swami Sadanand Saraswati of Dwarka Shardapith told Bhaskar- Somnath is the first Jyotirlinga in twelve Jyotirlingas and he is self-styled. Despite the invasion of Ghaznavis, this Jyotirlinga was not destroyed. The idol of God is installed in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and his life is presented with Vedic mantras.
God-donation also cannot control the soul of fire Mahant Harigiri Maharaj, the patron of the old arena and general secretary of the Akhara Parishad, said, Somnath Jyotirlinga is a fire form. Jwala can never be denied. Therefore, we do not believe that Shivling has been denied. If no one can control the soul of a person’s flame, then it is the flame of God. This cannot be considered. It is also not under the control of gods and demons.
He further said- We do not want to get caught in the claims of leftists and historians. My intention is not to hurt anyone’s feelings. Everyone may have their own personal opinion. This is the belief of those who want to restore it. If someone speaks Mahatma (Sri Sri Ravi Shankar), they should know what they have information. But I said what I knew. According to my knowledge, Jyot cannot be denied.
It is not possible to have 1000 years old pieces Shiva worshiper Nijanand Swami of Brahmachari Ashram-Gotark said that Jyotirlinga cannot be re-established nor should it be done. It is not possible to have pieces of 1000 year old Somnath Shivling. There was a self -proclaimed Shiva temple (Shivling) in Somnath. It was engraved here and there on a single rock. Which was later demolished. The Shiva temple which is present today is established here. There is no need to set up a second Shiva temple above the pre -established Shiva temple.
The law of self -proclaimed is that it can be worshiped until a small piece of it grows. The basic thing is that no one knows where the self -proclaimed Shivling was located in Somnath. According to the scriptures, Jyotirlinga means that wherever a sage does penance for 12 years and achieves a certain goal. A light has appeared there. As far as I have read history. Shivalinga was broken 3-4 times in Somnath. Then it was grinded and made lime. The emperor used to give this lime on the leaves and give it to foreign tourists.
This piece cannot be re -distinguished Hasmukhbhai Joshi, the priest of the Ghala Somnath temple located in Jasdan, told Divya Bhaskar that once the Shiva lingam’s life is presented, his life cannot be rested again. If the Shivling is completely destroyed, he cannot get his prior pride again. Even a piece of it cannot be brought back.
Where was Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for so long? Why have they not spoken till now and why are they speaking now? As far as I know, Ghela Somnath has a sword wounds on the Shivling, but he is not fragmented. If the form in which he is distinguished, it can be worshiped, but it cannot be revived. Shivalinga is self -proclaimed. It has manifested itself. Nobody has the right to kill anyone.
There is no evidence whether these pieces belong to the original Shivling or not Somnath Trust trustee PK Lahiri said- I did not read anywhere that Shivling is being renovated. There is no basis for whether Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has the pieces of the original Shivling or not. I will not comment on anything until it has any basis.
If Sri Sri Ravi Shankar goes on Somnath’s pilgrimage and demands revival of Jyotirlinga, will it be allowed? In response, Lahiri said that the trustee board will take a decision. PK Lahiri said that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has not made any correspondence nor made any official announcement. If anything is said without any evidence, it means that people are being misled.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar claims: parts of Shivling reach him like this Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had said that Mahmud Ghaznavi attacked Somnath 18 times. In his final attack in 1026 AD, he broke the Shivling. The Shivling was not in the ground, but in the air. Some Agnihotri Brahmins, saddened by this destruction, secretly took a holy piece of fragmented Shivling. After this, Agnihotri priest took the pieces of this Shivling to Tamil Nadu in South India, where these pieces were given the form of small Shivling. Till 1924, a generation of Agnihotri priests continued to worship this Shivling.
He said that in the year 1924, Sant Pranvendra Saraswati took these parts to the then Shankaracharya Swami Chandrashekharendra Saraswati of Kanchipuram. Then Shankaracharya instructed him to hide it for some time and reveal it when the Ram temple is built. After this, the holy part of the Shivling came under the patronage of Agnihotri Brahmin Pandit Sitaram Shastri.
After this, Pandit Sitaram Shastri sought guidance from the current Shankaracharya Vijayendra Saraswati of Kanchipuram. Where Shankaracharya said that there is a saint in Bengaluru, Gurudev Sri Ravi Shankar. Take this part to them. Following the instructions of Shankaracharya, the family of Pandit Sitaram Shastri handed over parts of the Shivling to me.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had said that a procession will be taken out on the path of religious places of the country including Ayodhya before restoring parts of this Shivling in Somnath temple. Prime Minister Modi will decide the date of restoration of Somnath temple.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar said that these pieces were preserved from generations and now they will be established in their place at the right time. This is not just a matter of reviving a piece of history. This event is an important step for Sanatan culture and spirituality. He did not consider it a miracle and called it the power of Sanatan Dharma.
Describing the importance of Somnath Jyotirlinga, he said that magnetic power is generally from one to 12 yards, but the magnetic capacity of this Jyotirlinga is 140 yards. It contains only 1 percent iron and other elements. Geologists say that this Jyotirlinga is not related to this planet.
Somnath Temple is situated on the Arabian Sea in Veraval city of Gir-Somnath district in Gujarat.
How did Jyotirlinga appear? Shiva narrator Giribapu said- Whether or not Shivalinga can be restored in Somnath, it is a matter of scholars and scholars. My subject is to tell the story of Lord Mahadev. Jyoti means light or lamp. What is beyond the light we call Jyotirlinga. When Brahma and Vishnu were absorbed into each other, Lord Niranjan appeared as light between them. This light appeared endlessly from Hades to the sky. Then a Shivling appeared with light. That is why we put the word Jyoti in front of Shivling.
Regarding the mention of Jyotirlinga in the scriptures, he said- there is a complete Lingavali Samhita about this. The Kotirudra Samhita of Shivpuran states that 100 crore are Jyotirlinga, out of which 12 are prominent. The detailed glory of these 12 Jyotirlingas is described in Shivpuran.
