New Delhi: Harbhajan Singh’s wife and former actress Geeta Basra is in discussion after a long time. Now she is starting a chat show WHO is the boss’ which will soon be launched on YouTube. Recently, considering her journey during the promotion of the show, the actress spoke about the challenges faced by her as an outsider in Bollywood. He revealed that due to lack of a strong support, he had to give up acting after doing only 4 films and many projects went out of his hand.
Projects went by hand only after meeting Bhajji
In a recent conversation, Geeta Basra talked about the early stages of her Bollywood journey, in which she explained how the prevailing mentality of that time affected her career. She told that soon after meeting her husband, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, her perception in the industry suddenly changed. Conservative thinking manufacturers and filmmakers accepted that she is going to get married and again snatched the projects from them or removed them. When he was asked why he decided to move away from the film industry when his career was moving towards progress, then Geeta Basra told that when she met Harbhajan, she started her career and was still adopting the functioning of life in Bollywood and India.

Film makers keep traditional thinking
Basra said, ‘In fact, when I met Bhajji, I started my career. I was new in India and the industry. At that time the mindset was very different, as you could not be seen publicly with a person or could not be connected to it. It was not limited to the audience only; Even producers, directors and actors used to have very traditional thinking. I lost four films because people felt that I was going to get married. And due to no godfather in the industry, it was difficult to explain them to the contrary.
Did Bhajji ask for a comeback in acting?
The actress further said, ‘But thankfully the time has changed. Today, no one cares whether you are married or you have children. What matters is your work on the screen. When asked if Harbhajan had ever encouraged Geeta Basra to return to films after marriage, the cricketer told that the decision was completely her. He emphasized that he never hoped him and respected his decision to stay away from the limelight.

Further, Harbhajan said, ‘Whenever he had to choose an option in life, I always supported him and supported him. But after all, everything is according to God’s plan. When, where and how much we can do, it all depends on God. My job is to stand with him like a column and encourage whatever he has to do.
