Tips to prevent heat: The heat has now started making products. In many parts of the country, the temperature is crossing 40 degrees Celsius. In this scorching heat, the risk of heat stroke increases immensely. Tilling heat is very deadly because it sometimes causes a person’s death. Experts say that it is very important to keep the body’s electrolytes balanced to avoid heat. Electrolytes are the amount of fluid in the body. That is, sodium, potassium, magnesium etc. mixed with water. If there is a shortage of it, then there may be a heart attack or cardiac arrest due to heat stroke, which can cause immediate death. Therefore, it is very important to take some precautions before leaving in summer.
Why is the balance of electrolytes necessary
Electrolytes are made from sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium in the body. It gives an electrian signal in the veins, so that our brain thinks something, then the body works accordingly. It plays an important role in the operation of muscles, nerves and vital organs of the body. Through sweat in summer, these electrolytes along with water from the body also come out. This causes dehydration and deficiency of electrolytes in the body. Due to this deficiency, the possibility of heat stroke and heatstroke increases the possibility of fatal effects on the body. Dr. Tushar Tayal, a consultant of internal medicine at Birla Hospital Gurgaon, says that due to deteriorating electrolytes balance, there is a disturbance at body temperature. This can cause immediate fatigue, dizziness, muscle cramps and fainting or heatstroke in severe cases. When the level of sodium and potassium in the body is reduced, BP and heart rate affects, which further increases the risk of heat stroke. Therefore, it is necessary to fulfill electrolytes before and after exit in summer.
Do these 5 things before going out in the scorching heat
1. Drink water containing electrolyte- It is necessary to drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water a day to keep the body hydrated in summer. Apart from this, drink beverages like lemonade, coconut water, buttermilk or ORS (oral rehydration solution) to keep electrolytes. Dr. Tushar Tayal says that before leaving the house, drink a glass of lemon water mixed with a pinch of salt and sugar. It maintains the balance of sodium and glucose.
2. Wear light and loose clothes- Wear cotton and light colored loose clothes in summer, which can absorb sweat and provide air to the skin. It helps in controlling body temperature.
