The 50th anniversary of the inauguration of the Laxminarayan temple of Kadwa Patidar Samaj in Ravapar village was being celebrated.

A three -day Suvarna Amrit Mahotsav was organized in the village to make the program memorable. The program was to be held from 7 to 9 May. On the first day, there was a program of worship-yajna and on the second day i.e. on May 8, there was to be a folk-dyro (bhajan program).

The program started with barely 20-25 minutes that a call came on the mobile of a leader. This was a call from Kutch Collector Anand Patel. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the community leaders immediately stopped the program and all the people were immediately asked to return home. More than 30 committees were also formed to organize a three -day grand program. For the three days, a huge bhandara was also to be organized in the village along with worship. There was an atmosphere of happiness in the entire village, but then there was a situation of war between India and Pakistan and all the later programs had to be canceled.

The organizers of the program came from Hyderabad to Kutch The organizer of this program was Kantilal Garani. He currently lives in Hyderabad. Kantibhai came here with the whole family. He told Divya Bhaskar that the program was to have a bhajan of folk singer Sairam Dave. The venue was packed. The program had started, when the collector’s call came to stop the program immediately, because blackout is being done in Kutch.
He further said that people were disappointed at the cancellation of the program. But what could have been done in such a situation. There was no electricity in the entire district due to blackout. Whereas Kutch contains scorching heat and people had to spend the whole night. However, no one regrets this, because this suffering is nothing for the country. We explained to the children that our soldiers pass their lives at such a day and spend such days every day.

I still remember that in 1971, a bomb caused a big pit in our village. His marks still exist today.
After visiting Rawapar village, Bhaskar’s team reached Narayan Sarovar, the last village in Gujarat, about 55 km away. Former sarpanch of the village Surubha Jadeja told that our village is exactly on the border. Many Pakistani drones arrived here, but our army killed him. We had to leave the house and go to another nearby village. When the news of the ceasefire came, we returned.
Legendary Koteshwar Mahadev Temple located on Kutch border
