Wing Commander Vyomika Singh is a specialist helicopter pilot in the Indian Air Force (IAF). She operates specialized helicopters like Chetak and Cheetah in challenging areas. She is the first woman to join the armed forces in her family and has been serving in the Airforce for the last 21 years.

Dream of becoming a pilot since school days

When Vyapika studied in the sixth grade, the meaning of her name was asked in class. He came to know that his name ‘Vyomika’ means flying. Then she decided that she would be a part of the Air Force. Due to his passion, he joined NCC in school and became part of the Air Force with the help of short service commission.

The Wing Commander Vyomica has a flight hour exposer of more than 2,500 hours. He has operated helicopters like Chetak and Cheetah in difficult hilly areas including Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast.
