New Delhi. US President Donald Trump recently signed an order in which there is a provision to ban transgenders in women’s sports. Under this, transgenders will no longer be able to participate in women’s games. The name of this order is ‘Keeping Main Out of Women’s Sports’. However, these are only for America’s games. The International Olympic Association has not said anything on it.
Trump also said that he would pressurize the International Olympic Committee to change his rules on transgender athletes before the return of sports on US soil in 2028 at Los Angeles. He has ordered External Affairs Minister Marco Rubio to “clarify” the IOC that “we want them to change the Olympics and everything related to this absolutely ridiculous subject.”
Trump said that he has directed the Homeland Security Head Christie NoM to reject the visa applications made by men who tried to enter the United States fraudulently, saying “female athlete”.
However, the NCAA said that at birth, women athletes which have started hormone therapy (for example testosterone). She can practice with the women’s team. But she cannot compete in the team for the championship. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) changed its participation policy for transgender athletes on 6 February. In which competition in women’s sports was limited to only athletes who were considered women at birth.
