Police Commissioner S Devdutt Singh said- ‘Four, including two people from Odisha, have been arrested by the Special Crime Unit of Bhubaneswar. The Police Commissioner said that the gang members used to take money from the students by promising to get admission in medical colleges. Gang’s planning was to make solver in the examination.

Examination replacing fake candidates real

According to media reports, the Odisha police suspect that the gang members first gather information from the local agent, including their Aadhaar cards.

They would help in registration, then after the issuance of the admit card, he would be transferred to the gang of Bihar.

After this, fake candidates in admit cards are used to sit in the examination instead of real students.

Commissioner of Police Singh said that more than Rs 90 lakh checks, some blank checks, 182 candidates’ documents have been seized from them.

Police Commissioner S Devdutt Singh said- ‘We had received news from the intelligence department about the racket being active in Bhubaneswar. The mastermind of this racket is Priyadarshi Kumar of Jharkhand and Arvind Kumar of Bihar. The accused in Jharkhand is a resident of Hazaribagh.

‘Sunil and Rudra of Odisha were helping both. Sunil and Rudra had gathered information about the students from an admission counseling agency in Bhubaneswar.

‘The role of some institutions here is suspicious in sitting for a fake candidate. In such a situation, every effort will be made to find out about such institutions, action will be taken against them.

Bhaskar spoke to ADG Nayyar Hasnain Khan of the Economic Offenses Unit in Bihar on Monday. They told that the police there have not officially made any contact regarding the action taken in Odisha.
