For the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (Bullet Train Project), Japan will give India two Shinkansen Trains E5 and E3 free. Their delivery can be done in early 2026. In the 508 km long corridor, 360 km i.e. about 71% of the work is almost complete.
In such a situation, some part of the corridor can be started in August 2027. Till then, important data will be collected by trialing the train amidst India’s temperature and challenges.
Japan is currently working on the E10 model of the bullet train. This will be much faster and modern than the E3 and E5. According to the Japan Times, there is a churning going on on tracking E10 on track together in both countries i.e. India and Japan.
Although the E10 will take time to get ready, E3 and E5 will work. Based on the data received from these two trains, it will also help to upgrade the E10. In these trains, the place of keeping more items is being made and in the harsh weather.

- There will be 35 bullet trains with 10 coaches. These trains will make 70 rounds daily. 750 people will be able to sit in a bullet train. Later there will be 16 coaches for 1200 people. There is a plan to increase the number of these trains to 105 by 2050.
