New Delhi. The festive season of online shopping in India has started a tremendous start this year. Amazon and Flipkart’s Mega Sale (Great Indian Festival and Big Billion Days) recorded a record -breaking sale this time. In the first week only, online platforms sold Rs 60,700 crore, which is 29% more than last year. Market research company Datum Intelligence says that this year the total festive cell can be more than Rs 1.2 lakh crore. This means that this time the market is going to be even more hot as compared to about 1 lakh crores of the previous year.

The biggest reason for this magnificent start is the dhansu cell of mobile phones. Mobiles alone contributed 42% to the total cell. Apart from this, home appliances and grocery goods also shocked everyone this time. The cell of home appliances has increased by 41% and the grocery is 44%. The big reason for this is GST 2.0 improvement, which reduced tax on expensive products and people got ready for shopping. Quick Commerce (early delivery service) and gifting demand also promoted grocery cell.

GST Reform and Jane-Zi did amazing

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days recorded 606 million visits in the first 48 hours. The special thing is that one-third of these visitors were Gen-Z, which is almost double from normal days. Flipkart says that GST reforms also inspired the customers who were hesitant to purchase and this time in the initial week, the passion of the cell remained for the whole week.

Amazon also did wonders. In the first 48 hours, he received 38 crore visitors and 70% of them were from small cities. This time there was a tremendous bounce in the cell of expensive smartphones, QLED and Mini-Led TV, Premium Watch and Jewelery. Amazon says that in just 48 hours, the benefits of crores from GST were delivered to the customers. Also, the company did the fastest delivery, in which more than 80 lakh products were delivered to Prime members in two days.

This time people were already ready for shopping. The Early-access cell, which started on 22 September, sold records on the first day. The special thing is that even after the first two days this time, the excitement of shopping did not decrease, but remained a whole week. It is clear that the trust of the customers is increasing and now shopping is not limited to the discount, but people are taking big products by making plans.

In the next few weeks, it is going to grow more enthusiasm because the time till Diwali is the biggest chance for e-commerce companies. If this speed continues, it can prove to be the biggest festive season ever and can write a new chapter of stable and long -term growth in India’s online retail sector.
