To use Live Translation, you must have the latest version of iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence is necessary in your iPhone. Also, you have to install the Apple Translate app. After this your setup is ready.
From here you can start the conversation and will be able to see the real-time translation screen.
In this you can choose the language of your choice, such as Spanish, French, German, Portuguese and English, after which the app will translate you and your partner immediately.
Live translation from airpods
It is even easier to use this feature from airpods.
Press a longer on the stem of airpods, start the conversation as soon as you hear the chime (voice).
If both people have airpods, then you will not need a phone. Live translation will work directly in airpods.
If only one person has airpods, the other person can see on the iPhone screen for translation.
This feature is currently available on AirPods 4, AirPods Pro 2 and new AirPods Pro 3. Support of more languages will be added to the updates to come, so that this feature will prove to be more work.
