Premium market status
Citing the data of the International Data Corporation (IDC) in the Business Standard report, it has been said that Apple and Samsung together control India’s premium smartphone market (price at Rs 50,000), while Xiaomi is less than 1%. In Q2 2025, Samsung had a 14.5% share in the Indian smartphone market, followed by 9.6% of Xiaomi and 7.5% of Apple.
Apple’s shipments in India grew by 21.5% to 5.9 million units in the first six months of 2025. The highest among them was iPhone 16. Xiaomi, who has always focused on the affordable segment, is now trying to increase its presence in the premium category.
