The five easy and effective suggestions told by Dr. Rakesh Pandit to Hindustan Times, which can make your fast safe and comfortable, let us know what are.
The most important in fasting is that there is no lack of water in the body. Drink a little water throughout the day and again. If the weather is hot or you sweat more, coconut water can help a lot. It keeps the body refreshed as well as gives necessary minerals, which does not cause problems like fatigue and headache.
Hungry stomach can bring weakness for too long. So take food that is digested quickly but gives plenty of energy. Such as banana, sweet potato, sago khichdi or kheer. These foods give the body the strength to work for a long time. A small amount of dry fruits in between are also beneficial.
3. Eat good fat i.e. ghee and seeds
Many people are left with only fruits in fasting, but if you include things like ghee, flaxseed or chia seeds in small amounts, then it gives the body energy for a long period. Things like a spoonful of desi ghee or a handful of walnuts, almonds, peanuts can prove to be very beneficial for you.
If you are fasting, then it is important to listen to the voice of your body. Do not work hard. If you are feeling tired, then sit for a while, close your eyes and take a deep breath. Get 7-8 hours of sleep daily so that the body is completely refreshed.
5. Walking in light yoga or slow pace is beneficial
The body can get tired quickly by doing heavy exercise during fasting. Instead, you should adopt some mild yogasanas or techniques focusing on breath. This keeps the mind calm and blood circulation in the body is also improved.
