Gulveer Singh of India broke his national record in the 3000 meter race in Budapest and finished fifth. Kipasang Matthew of Kenya won the gold medal.

Gulveer took a time of seven minutes 34.49 seconds on Tuesday in February this year in his own last national record 7.38.26 seconds in Boston University David Hemri Valentine Invitation Competition.
Kipasang Matthew Kipchumba of Kenya won the gold medal with a time of 7: 33.23. Eduardo Heera (7: 33.58) of Mexico, Oscar Chelimo (7: 33.93) of Uganda and Valentin Soka (7: 34.28) of Uruguay finished second, third and fourth respectively.
He has already qualified for the men’s 5000 meter race in the World Athletics Championship to be held in Tokyo from 13 to 21 September.
