35 -year -old Saina Nehwal surprised the sports world on Instagram on Sunday. Saina, a two-time gold medalist of the Commonwealth Games, wrote in the Insta Story, ‘Life sometimes takes us in different directions. After much thought, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to separate. We are choosing the option of peace, development and treatment for ourselves and each other. Saina and former shuttler Kashyap married in December 2018.

Saina wrote, “I am grateful for those memories and wish for further good luck. During this time, thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy. Saina, who hails from Haryana, caught everyone’s attention by winning the BWF World Junior Championship in 2008. The same year he took part in the Olympics for the first time, but he had to wait for four more years to win the medal. In 2008, Saina became the first Indian woman to reach the Olympic quarter-finals. She defeated Wang Chen of the world number five Hong Kong, but lost to Indonesia’s Maria Christin Yulianti.
Saina became the first Indian to win the BWF Super Series event in 2009. His brilliant efforts were recognized and he was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2009 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2010. Saina gave a new identity to badminton in the country. This star Shaller represented India in several major badminton competitions and won various trophies and medals. P Kashyap has won gold in the Commonwealth Games
P Kashyap is the 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist. This was the first time in 32 years when an Indian badminton player won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. He trained under former All-England champions Prakash Padukone and Pullela Gopichand. He is also the first Indian men’s badminton player to reach the quarter-finals of the Olympics, which he achieved in the 2012 Olympics. Kashyap achieved the best world rankings of his career in 2013, but he was in trouble due to continuous injury.
