Vian Mulder of South Africa set a world record

New Delhi. South African batsman Vian Mulder made history in the call on Sunday (July 6) while captaining the team’s Test. Keshav Maharaj was given this responsibility after the injury and out of the series. As a captain, Vian set the world record of playing the biggest innings in his first Test. The match being played against Zimbabwe at the Queens Sports Club became memorable for him. He hit a double century in the game of the first day. After this, he made the biggest score of the first innings as a captain, taking the innings forward.

Vian Mulder, batting on the first day against Zimbabwe, scored an unbeaten 264 runs and in the meantime, as a captain, he set a record of playing the biggest innings in the first Test. South Africa scored a huge score of 465 runs for 4 wickets against Zimbabwe on the first day. In the first day’s game, Vian Mulder had a double century. Captain landed at number 3 and crossed 250 runs in the 84th over of South Africa’s first innings. During this, he registered his name in the record book.

The record of scoring the most runs in an innings of the first Test as captain was the name of New Zealand’s Graham Dowling as the captain before Vian Mulder (who crossed 250 runs in 244 balls). Dowling started the Test captaincy for the Kiwi team against India in Christchurch in February 1968 and scored 239 runs in 519 balls in the first innings. Shivnarayan Chandrapaul of West Indies is now in third place in this list. Chandrapaul started the Test captaincy for the West Indies against South Africa at Georgetown in March-April 2005 and scored an unbeaten 203 runs in 370 balls in the first innings.
