Faridabad: Being vigilant with diseases has become the biggest need of today. Especially when the risk of diseases (Juneosis) spreading from animals to humans is increasing rapidly. Rabies is one of these dangerous diseases, which can prove fatal if not stopped in time.

For this purpose, an awareness program was organized at DAV Shatabdi College, Faridabad. The event was organized by AIIMS New Delhi’s “Center for Excellence in One Health” and the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Dr. Simmi Tiwari, Joint Director, Center for One Health, Ministry of Health, was the chief guest at the program. He has been awarded the Sir Louis Pasteur Reading Award in 2022 and recently for his contribution to “One Health”.

Treatment is not done after the onset of rabies symptoms
Dr. Simmi Tiwari told in a conversation with Local18 that rabies is 100% fatal disease, that is, after its symptoms, there is no cure. This disease affects the nervous system and if it is not treated on time, you can also die. He said that whether the pet has bitten or some animals roaming on the road. It is necessary to get rabies vaccine in every situation.

Symptoms of rabies can sometimes be seen even after 9 months. Therefore, if an animal has a bitter or scratch, then immediately wash the wound with water and soap for 15 minutes and then go to the nearest health center and get the rabies injection.

In addition to AIIMS in the program, Professor Dr. Vikram Saini shared experiences related to biosar, infectious disease and bio -safety. Also, Dr. Manpal Rana of AIIMS team, Dr. Anuj Tomar, Kirti Negi and Parul Singh explained in detail, spread and rescue due to Juneosis diseases.
