He said- “When we were launched in vacuum, I was not feeling very good, I have slept a lot. I am learning like a child … how to walk and eat in space.”
During this time, a soft toy swan i.e. Hans in hand, he said- Hans is a symbol of intelligence in Indian culture.

Hello from space! I am very excited by coming here with my fellow astronauts. To be honest, when I was sitting in a capsule on the launchpad yesterday. After 30 days of Quarantine, I just wanted to walk now. But when the journey started, it felt as if you were being pushed back into the seat. It was a wonderful ride .. and then suddenly everything calmed down. You opened the belt and you were floating in the peace of vacuum.
I want to thank every person who has been a part of this journey. I think this is not a personal achievement, this is the collective achievement of all of you, who have been part of this journey. I want to thank all of you heartily. Family and friends too .. Your support matters a lot. All this has been possible because of all of you.
We showed you Joy and Grace. It is a swan, a very important symbol. It looks very cute, but in our Indian culture, Hans is a symbol of intelligence. I think it also has symbolic significance in Poland, Hungary and India. It may look like coincidence, but it is not so. It means much more than this.
When we launched in the vacuum, I did not feel very good, but since yesterday I have been told that I have slept very much, which is a good sign. I think this is a great sign. I am well molded in this environment.
Enjoying the scenes, enjoying the whole experience. I am learning like a child- new steps, walking, controlling myself, eating, everything. This is a new environment, a new challenge, and I am enjoying this experience with my fellow astronauts. It is okay to make mistakes, but it is even better to see someone else making mistakes.
There is a very fun time above here. I rest my case. Thank you very much for making it possible to all of you. I am sure we will spend a great time here.
