Nawada. The 47th National Junior Girls Handball Competition, which runs from 18 to 22 June, was inaugurated at the sports ground of Modern English School in Kunti Nagar, Nawada. Local MP Vivek Thakur of this historic competition organized by Handball Federation of India, Bihar Handball Association and Nawada District Handball, Dr. S. Additional Chief Secretary of Bihar Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth, and General Secretary of the Handball Federation of India, Dr. Preetpal Singh Saluja inaugurated the lamp jointly.
On this occasion, many officials associated with the sports were present, including Warsaliganj MLA Aruna Devi and Chairman cum Organizing Committee Chairman cum Organizing Committee. The opening ceremony of the championship was extremely colorful, in which school children left a cultural impression of Bihar through dance, which was enjoyed by players from other states. The guests took the salute of the march past of players from 24 states.

The championships are participating in Bihar, Assam, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Puducherry, Tripura, Andhra Pradesh, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Kerala.
Addressing the players, MP Vivek Thakur said that this national event in Nawada is historic and it shows that Bihar is moving forward in the field of sports. He appreciated the quality of the event and said that sports are also a big source of health as well as employment. Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department, Dr. S. Siddharth described the game as an important part of life and recalled sports competitions held two decades ago while being District Magistrate in Nawada. Nawada national players Janvi Kumari and Karishma administered the oath on behalf of the players.
Bihar won a great victory
In the inaugural match, Bihar defeated Assam by a goal of 18-01 to register a stunning win. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the local people to see such national level sports event being held in Nawada for the first time.
