New Delhi. The Indian team will start the Test series against England from 20 June. Star Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik has said that he wants Sai Sudarshan, who recently score 759 runs in the IPL, bat for India at number 3, while Karun Nair plays at number 6. Karthik also said that Shardul Thakur will leave behind Nitish Kumar Reddy in the playing XI. The Indian team management is recently facing a big selection problem regarding the batting unit after the retirement of Rohit Sharma and prominent batsman Virat Kohli.
There have been significant changes in the batting order due to the departure of these star players. Karthik has recently supported Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul to continue their success in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Karthik has kept captain Shubman Gill and Pant in mid -order, while the returned Nair is placed at number 6. Karthik’s top 7 for the headingley test includes Jaiswal, Rahul, Sudarshan, Gill, Pant, Nair, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul. Pant has already confirmed that he will bat at number 5 while Gill will play at number 4.
Karthik said, “Jaiswal seems to be a player who is ready for such a challenge. At number 3, Sai Sudarshan, I think he has performed brilliantly in limited occasions for white-ball cricket, IPL and India,” “Can he (Sudarshan) change that form to Red-Ball Cricket? Shubman Gill, who is going to handle responsibility from King, who wants to win responsibility, but he wants to win a big thing. Are,”
Karthik further said, “If he performs well with the bat and shows the form shown in white-ball cricket, then the world is his. At number 8, I think Shardul Thakur will be the person. He is a bowling all-rounder, but his batting will be useful,” Karthik added. England have already announced their playing XI for their series opener. Experienced fast bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes has returned to line-up while Oli Pope has been given priority in place of Jacob Bethel.
