New Delhi. The Indian Air Force is planning to make its fighter aircraft even more powerful and equipped with hi -Technology. Very soon, it may include a new self-made smart weapon called smart anti-airfield Weapon (Saaw) in its aircraft fleet. This includes jets like Sukhoi-30 MKI. According to defense sources, this new weapon is a type of glide bomb directed by the satellite. It can kill the targets up to 100 km away with very high accuracy. This means that it can attack the exact location even from long distances.

The Ministry of Defense will soon consider joining this weapon in the Air Force. If it gets approval, then India will get a strong lead in air strikes. Experts believe that such modern weapons will strengthen India’s defense. This step may worry to neighboring countries like Pakistan and China.

What is Saaw?
The Saaw (Smart Anti-Aerfield Weapon) has been designed and developed by the DRDO’s research center in Hyderabad. It is a modern, high -prone bomb that weighs about 120 kg. This weapon is considered world class and is part of India’s effort to create an advance defense system in its country. The Saaw is designed to destroy important parts of the enemy’s airbase. This radar, bunker, taxi track and even the runway can be easily damaged by targeting. In simple terms, it can paralyze the airbase of the enemy without sending fighter aircraft into the enemy’s ground.

It is a stand-off weapon, which means it can be launched from a distance and yet it can accurately penetrate its goal, just as the weapons used in the Balakot air strike of India in 2019.

The DRDO has also offered this weapon to the Indian Armed Forces under the Emergency Purchase Scheme, so that it can be delivered as soon as possible and prepared for future missions when needed.

Indian fighter aircraft will become powerful with smart weapons
The Indian Air Force is now focusing on long-range stand-off arms systems, including special types of missiles and bombs. After the success of Operation Sindoor, in which the Indian Army attacked terrorists and military bases in Pakistan, the demand for such advanced weapons has increased. One of the major projects that aid in the field is Smart Anti-Aerfield Weapon (SAAW) developed by DRDO. This is one of his most successful weapons and will play a big role in strengthening India’s military power.
