New Delhi. The Indian cricket team’s tour of England is going to be memorable in many ways. After a long time, Team India is going to play a Test series abroad without captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Both have announced retirement from the test. Shubman Gill has been made the new captain of the Test team by the selectors. Coach Gautam Gambhir has reached this tour with the intention of doing something big with the new fledgling team. Former English spinner Graeme Swan, while provoking India before the series, said that his team will win 4-1 series.
England finished the 2023–25 World Test Championship Circle in fifth place in a disappointing manner. He won only 10 out of 22 matches while lost in 11 matches. During this, a Test match was drawn. The series against India is a chance to get its rhythm for England’s relatively inexperienced bowling attack. At the same time, the Indian team has come here to play here without their two most experienced batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Swan told Sky Sports, “He will not have Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma, who is his two most experienced superstar batsmen. Without his difficulty but he has good players. We have bowlers who can take good advantage of our circumstances and bowl well.”
He further said, “I think England should try to win this series. I think it should win it vigorously. I am expecting England’s victory for four, three or two. I really hope that we do well and increase confidence for the Ashes.” England last won the Ashes with a 3–2 win at home in 2015 and has not won a single Test match in Australia since 2011.
