Haryana boxer Naman Tanwar won the gold medal by defeating China’s boxer 4–1 in the ongoing Thailand Open International tournament in Thailand. Naman Tanwar is also a boxer to win the first boxing medal to India at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Originally, Naman, a resident of Haluwas village of Bhiwani and currently DC Colony Bhiwani, started the game to keep himself fit. After which he did not know when he became attached to boxing. He started the game in 2012, when he was around 14 years old.

Bronze medal won in Commonwealth
On the 9th day of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Indian boxer Naman Tanwar won a bronze medal in the men’s 91 kg category. The 19-year-old boxer suffered a 0–4 defeat against Australia’s Jason Whatly in the semi-finals and had to be content with the bronze medal.
Return after injury
Naman Tanwar had an injury to the waist during the Tokyo Olympic Games qualifier tournament. Due to which he stayed away from the ring for 2 years. Due to long distance from the ring, he found it very difficult to make a comeback. After winning the silver at the National held in Bareilly, his way for the Thailand Open International Tournament was cleared. Where they have made a good comeback.
MDU Rohtak students
Bhiwani boxer Naman Tanwar has done graduation completion by MDU. At the same time, he is doing his master’s degree from English Honors. In the 10th grade, Naman told his father that he can do it right in the same thing. On which his father said, do games, from where you will get recognition. After that Naman did well in studies and won the medal for the country in the games as well.
Father has been President’s security personnel
Sundar Tanwar, father of Naman Tanwar, a resident of Haluwas village in Bhiwani, has been the security personnel of the President. But there were some incidents in the family, due to which they resigned from the job. His grandfather was a member of the Sri Lanka Shanti Sena, who was martyred there. On the basis of compassion of the same, in the year 2016, the state government appointed him a clerk in the revenue department. Since then, Bhiwani has been posted in the DC office.
