A Delhi court has abolished the criminal defamation case against Olympic medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia.

The court ended the defamation case against Bajrang Poonia.
New Delhi. A Delhi court has abolished the criminal defamation case against Olympic medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia. He has apologized unconditionally to the coach and complainant Naresh Dahiya. After which the Delhi court has canceled the case against him.
The judge closed the matter on 29 May when the two sides presented in the court that they have decided to resolve the case. The judge said in the order, “The matter was resolved.”
Dahiya had claimed that Bajrang, along with other wrestlers and people, had made objectionable remarks against him at a press conference during a protest at Jantar Mantar on 10 May 2023 against former head of the Indian Wrestling Federation (WFI) Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Bajrang had said in a press conference during a dharna at Jantar Mantar on 10 May 2023 that Naresh Dahiya himself is accused of rape, so he has no right to question his protests.
Bajrang had said in his apology, “I apologize unconditionally for the wrong and insensitive statement given against coach Naresh Dahiya during the protest at Jantar Mantar. I regret him due to the damage and insensitive statement to the image of coach Naresh Dahiya.
