Arrests are being made in many states for disputed posts on Pahalgam attack across the country.
26 people were arrested from 7 states for making controversial remarks on social media about Pahalgam terror attack. All these arrests include Assam opposition party AIUDF MLA, a journalist, student and a lawyer.
Arrests were made in several states across the country for a disputed post on social media. These include Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya and Tripura. Maximum 14 arrests have been made from Assam.
MLA’s disputed remarks, sedition case registered
The first arrest was made on 24 April to make controversial remarks on social media on the Pahalgam attack. Arrested MLA Aminul Islam is from Assam’s opposition party AIUDF. He described the 2019 Pulwama attack and the Pahalgam attack of 22 April as a ‘conspiracy of the government’. A case of treason was registered against him and on 25 April, he was sent to four days police custody.

Police reached home for arrest on 24 April on the disputed remarks of the MLA.

Fourth arrest in MP for sharing disputed video
On 25 April in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, a college guest lecturer Nasim Bano shared a controversial video about the Pahalgam attack on WhatsApp. The police detained the lecturer on this. The student organization ABVP has demanded strict action.
However, the lecturer claimed that he did not make the video. The video was accidentally on WhatsApp status. Earlier, 3 arrests have been made in such cases in the state.

A man from Chhattisgarh appreciated the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba on social media on the Pahalgam attack. Police arrested on this.
Assam journalist-student and 2 retired teachers arrested from Tripura
On April 25, 6 arrests were made from Assam in the disputed comment case. These included a journalist, student and a lawyer. These accused made anti -government and anti -national comments on social media.
At the same time, there have been four arrests in Tripura so far, including two retired teachers. One arrests have also been made from UP, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
Assam CM said- if needed, NSA will be installed
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, if needed on these arrests, the National Security Act (NSA) will also impose. We are checking all social media posts, and whatever will be found anti -national, action will be taken on it. There is no similarity between India and Pakistan. Both countries are mutual enemies and we should remain like this.
