Neeraj Chopra Qualifies Zurich Diamond League Final: Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the Diamond League final to be held on August 28 in Zurich. The Indian javelin Star made it to the finals with 15 points.
27 -year -old Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra has performed exceptionally this year. He won the Paris leg with a throw of 88.16 meters and set a national record of 90.23 meters in Doha. Where he finished second after Julian Weber of Germany. Chopra and Weber are currently second with 15 points. Trinidad and Tobago’s Keshorn Walcot topped three events with 17 points, including 82.54 meters in Silesia with second place.
Two -time world champion Anderson Peters and Luiz Maurisio da Silva of Brazil may also join the competition in the Zurich final. Neeraj Chopra won the Diamond League Trophy in 2022 and was runner -up in 2023 and 2024. Bharti Star has not yet officially confirmed her participation in the Zurich final. Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan who won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics has decided not to participate in this year’s Diamond League Circuit.
