According to CPSC, so far 19 cases have been reported in 19 cases, out of which 2 people scorched marginally and in 11 cases about $ 60,700 (about Rs 50 lakh) lost assets. These power banks were sold for about $ 27 between June 2016 and December 2022 on Amazon, Anker’s website, eBay and Newegg.
Customers have been advised to stop using this power bank immediately and go to the anchor’s website and register for free replacement. However, the company is recalling the unit sold in America only with eligible serial number. To check if your power bank is also involved in recall, you will have to visit the anchor’s website.
How to dispose of customer affected power bank?
The CPSC and the anchor have emphasized that neither throw such a power bank in the dustbin nor put it in the normal recycling, as it can catch the fire.
