If you run WhatsApp on the computer, then this news is for you. Meta has closed the WhatsApp app for Windows and now a web-based version has been replaced. This change can affect 1.4 billion users.

What has changed?
Under the new change, WhatsApp will no longer be a Native App, but will be introduced as a desktop app to Web.Whatsapp.com. That is, when you download the Whatsapp beta app from Microsoft Store, it will login directly on the web interface via Microsoft Edge. In this new web wrapper, some features like channels, communities and status will be available, but it will be mandatory for users to keep Microsoft EDGE updates in their system.
META says that with this change, they will be able to bring the same updates and features on all platforms easily. But the report of Windows Latest states that about 30% more RAM is being used in the new version, which is much heavier than the old Native App. This means that your computer can slow down, especially if it is old or low RAM.
What to do now?
• For those who have more RAM in the system, it will not affect much.
• For less RAM users, the use of WhatsApp Web will be better only through browser.
• Keep Microsoft Edge updated while using the new beta version.
